Poker Player Ryan Garcia Upsets Heavily Favored Devin Haney in What Should Have Been a Title Fight

Boxer Ryan Garcia shocked the boxing world with a stunning upset victory over Devin Haney, prevailing by majority decision and advances to a 24-1-0 record. Originally slated for the WBC welterweight title, Garcia's win was bittersweet as he was ineligible for the belt due being 3.2 pounds over the 140-pound threshold. Nevertheless, his dominance in the ring, including multiple knockdowns of Haney, showcased his undeniable talent.

But how does he fare in the poker ring? Garcia hasn’t been in the poker scene since the 2023 WSOP, where he managed to reach Day 4 in the $10,000 Main Event but was K.O’d in 566th place out of 10,400 for $36,500. He’s also made a few appearances on Hustler Casino Live, where he’s lost a cumulative $80,000 - A wrinkle to his over $20 million net worth.

Ouch. I suppose that’s what happens when you try to bluff a legend like Garret Adelstein in a $55,025 pot. Check it out here:

Poker is More Than 1000 Years Old

Poker's roots run deep, stretching back centuries before the Wild West era! Historians believe poker first originated in 10th century China or a Persian game called “as nas,". From there, it made its way to France, then Canada, and exploded onto the American scene.

So the next time you and your buddies are playing a friendly cash game at the house and they tell you that your poker chips are worn and outdated, tell them that you can always bust out the Daric if they prefer.
